Urgent Surgery Needed

Hey everyone,

I never thought I’d be making one of these, but I’m desperate and out of options. My sweet 3-year-old cat, Dino, is at this moment fighting an incredibly rare fungal infection.

Dino has been diagnosed with an extremely rare and life-threatening nasal fungal infection. It’s so rare in cats that only about 10 documented cases exist. Sadly, the infection has caused severe damage inside his nasal cavity, and now the only hope he has is a specialized surgical procedure called rhinoscopic debridement with topical clotrimazole — a surgery that only a handful of vets can perform. I have spent all day calling vets for estimates and second opinions & spent the past 3 months trying to keep this cat alive- barely sleeping or doing anything aside from work and care for him. and to hear my ONLY options are a surgery or no options without JUST funding- i’m shattered. if you know me you know this cat and my pets are my life. i have done everything i can to raise him with routine vet care & wet food and everything in between- but i just don’t have the money for this surgery. i thought he was getting better and i just feel so lost now.

After calling every specialist within an 8-hour radius, the lowest estimate I’ve received is $7,000–$8,000. I can contribute some of my own savings, but I’m still short, and I’ve been denied for CareCredit and every other financial assistance due to the high cost of the procedure. I’ve already spent over $2k on testing and emergency treatments to get him this far, but now we’re at a point with no options. everything recieved here will go towards this surgery and recovery costs as the 7k estimate was just the low ball price for the procedure. i hate asking for anything- if you know me you know i work 6 days a week & have earned everything i own and gotten it all myself. i didn’t even want to consider a gofundme but i can’t fathom losing him because im too ashamed to ask for help.

This cat is my entire world. I hand-raised him and his sister after a legal fight to get them out of a hoarding situation, where he likely picked up this rare fungus. He’s been a fighter since day one. Despite everything, his lungs, bloodwork, and overall health are excellent, and the vets say if he gets the surgery, his prognosis is INCREDIBLY good.
