Help Dina ("Pixie Rose") Fight a Debilitating Illness and Come Home.
After a sudden neurological illness left my wife unable to walk and living in a nursing facility, we are seeking specialized treatment not covered by insurance to help her recover and come home.
Please Help My Pixie Rose Come Home
Hi, my name is Drew, and I’m asking for help for my wife, Dina — the love of my life, whom I lovingly call my “Pixie Rose.”
On September 14, 2024, I married Dina after we found each other in midlife. Our life together was just beginning. She brought light, creativity, and kindness into every space she entered. Today, instead of building that life side by side at home, I spend my days trying to help her find answers and the care she desperately needs.
What Happened
On November 25, 2025, Dina began experiencing frightening neurological symptoms. When she laid her head down, she described feeling as though shredded glass was moving inside her skull. Her sense of temperature became distorted, and when she tried to walk, she felt as if she were being shoved off balance even when no one was near her.
Within hours, these symptoms became so severe that she begged to be taken to the hospital. She has not been able to return home since.
For the past three months, Dina has been living in a nursing facility while doctors search for answers. She has undergone countless tests, blood draws, and medication trials. Unfortunately, many medications caused difficult side effects due to her extremely sensitive system and a history of past misdiagnoses.
Dina also lives with complex PTSD stemming from early-life trauma, which makes some conventional testing extremely difficult to endure. Despite every challenge, she continues to fight with courage and determination.
Her Current Condition
Today, Dina cannot walk safely without assistance. She relies on a gait belt, cane, and sometimes a wheelchair. She is unable to work or participate in the activities she once loved — dancing, creating art, writing, traveling, exercising, and driving.
Transportation services have been unreliable, so I personally take her to medical appointments while managing my own serious health challenge: dialysis treatments three days each week.
Seeking proper care for Dina has become my full-time job.
Searching for Answers
Dina has always been what she calls a “Research Queen.” After extensive research using information from leading medical institutions such as the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, she discovered her symptoms closely match those associated with dysautonomia, a disorder affecting the autonomic nervous system — the system responsible for balance, temperature regulation, heart rate, and many automatic body functions.
Recently, we located a specialized treatment institute that offers a holistic, non-invasive, multidisciplinary approach focused on nervous system rehabilitation without heavy reliance on medications. After difficult experiences with traditional treatments, this approach gives Dina real hope and confidence for recovery.
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the specialized treatment Dina requires.
Why We Need Help
We are seeking funds to cover:
• Specialized treatment at the neurological rehabilitation institute
• Therapies and supportive care related to her condition
• Necessary medications and recovery expenses
• Transportation and ongoing medical needs
• Basic household and living expenses while we are unable to work
Without access to this care, Dina may continue without clear answers or an effective treatment plan, delaying — and possibly preventing — her recovery and return home.
Who Dina Is
Despite everything, Dina remains the brightest ray of sunshine I have ever known. Her smile lifts everyone around her. She stops to talk to children and animals wherever she goes. When she was healthy, she served as a care team leader at our church, organizing visits and support for sick parishioners.
She is also a self-taught abstract artist participating in an international online art program, where her work has already begun receiving recognition. Her life as a visual artist was just beginning to flourish when this illness struck.
Dina’s faith in God, her love for community, and her resilience continue to carry us through each difficult day.
How You Can Help
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Every contribution — no matter the size — brings Dina one step closer to receiving the care she needs and, most importantly, coming home.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, pray for us, and support us in any way you can.
