Help Dima and her family to survive from the war

My name is Serina Hammon - I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend Dima Alghrbawi. I want you to hear from her, in her own words.

"I am Dima from Gaza, a member of a family consisting of 10 members. I am 22 years old. I graduated with a communications diploma and was seeking to complete my studies abroad, but the war came that deprived us of all our dreams. After completing my communications diploma, I trained for 6 months in graphic design, and I intended to obtain a bachelor’s degree in this field. Since I was young, I had 5 operations at different ages on my feet, the first of which was at a year and a half, a tendon operation in Egypt, but unfortunately, I had to do the same operation at the age of 7 years in Egypt. At the age of 15, I did the third one here in Gaza, but I was not lucky, and the operation failed because of the skin opening, and it led to other problems in my feet, problems with the nerves of movement and sensation, so I had a nerve transplant in high school, and it led to major deformities, no less than 50 stitches, and this is my life between operations and wars.

However, I have not lost hope or the taste for life. I am a tennis player, I ride horses, and I am good at almost all sports and some drawing, handicrafts, and a sense of architecture. Therefore, I want your help to complete my dreams and studies and survive the war."

Dima has a very large family she is trying to help evacuate from Gaza once the borders open again. All of their names and ages will be listed below as well as the breakdown of the cost for evacuation/support. They are currently seeking refuge in Deir el Balah, Gaza as their home has been completely destroyed. We appreciate any and all help as winter will be coming soon, and if the borders do not open, this fundraiser can be a crucial support in helping them throughout the cold winter months.

How we will use donations:

We are planning as a family to evacuate Gaza Strip to a safer place. Donations collected through this campaign will be used to aid our family to escape from the conflict zone in Gaza Strip and start a new life.

What donations will cover:

Your donations will be crucial in facilitating our evacuation from Gaza to a safer location. These donations will cover:

1) Travel permit fees to leave Gaza Strip through Egyptian borders, which range around:

- $5,000-$6,000 per adult

- $2,500 per child

2) Travel expenses.

3) Family basic necessities like food, clean water, hygiene, and baby supplies in Gaza and Egypt.

4) Accommodation, living, rent, and medical care expenses in Egypt for at least 8 months.

$5,000 x 9 adults = $45,000

$2,500 x 2 children = $5,000

Total evacuation fee = $50,000
