Help Dieter Fight for His Life

I'm Jimena Luque. This is a fundraising for my nephew, Dieter Axel Goldschmidt. Dieter is my sister Ana Gabriela's only son. He's 31 and has already been in an induced coma since October 7th. These funds will only be used to cover medical expenses. Every day in the ICU represents an out-of-pocket expense from USD$4,000 to USD 5,000 for our family. We are uncertain about the time it will take for Dieter to recover. We only know that we need to fight this positively and with faith!

Ana Gabriela's message is as follows:

"You probably don't know it, but since October 7th, my son Dieter Axel Goldschmidt Luque has been hospitalized in the ICU in Lima, Peru. He's intubated with artificial respiration and in a highly delicate situation due to kidney, respiratory, and liver failure. It happened as a result of a complication after bariatric surgery that was already complicated due to his weight.

Dieter is uncertain about his own life and his future with us. He is improving day by day, but he still cannot breathe on his own. We do not know how long this situation will last. All of us who love Dieter are experiencing the most demanding tests ever happening to us. We are trying by all means to have the resources to keep Dieter in this fight and improve his situation gradually every day. I am turning to you, every close person, friend, and family to make this possible. I would be infinitely grateful for your collaboration with this cause, which is my cause to move Dieter forward so that we can wake up from this nightmare.

Dieter is a very young man with many years ahead of him, the father of a little girl who is waiting for him at home, and well, he has always been everyone's best friend. He's my only son, so you can imagine how I feel. Any support and collaboration you can do adds up. The day-to-day expenses are enormous, and the anguish is increasing more and more. I believe in God and believe that Dieter will come out of this very well.
