Help Diesel The Frenchie

A Dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.

 

Diesel is my 1.5 year old French bulldog. Anyone out there that has had the pleasure of meeting him instantly falls in love. His infectious personality is undeniable and he brings happiness with every waggle of his stubby tail. He loves to meet every person in the room by using a wet slobbery kiss and a snort or ten. Diesel is an absolute joy to myself, my family and my friends. I’ve heard from multiple people that he is “special” dog that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. If you’ve ever seen my Facebook, even the camera loves him. Most of us have experienced the happiness and joy of a dog. I am grateful that I have been able to experience unfiltered love and happiness with Diesel. 

 

Recently I had a tragedy that occurred and my best friend needs some help. My dog Diesel was hit by a car last week. I was out of town and my mother let him out in the backyard to use the restroom in the morning. Diesel took the opportunity to run to the front yard and across the street. While running across the street, he was unfortunately hit by a passing neighbor going to work. While I’m truly thankful that Diesel is still with us, the accident caused some serious damage to his backside area, abdomen and legs. He will have to have 3 surgeries over the next 6 weeks. The first surgery was complete on Friday to close an open wound on his hind quarters. The next two will be on his hind leg, which when he was struck by the car his skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments were all removed exposing nothing but bone. Diesel has a 4 month recovery from the surgery along with rehab. Luckily we have found a great hospital Blue Pearl in the Brandon area. Their staff has been nothing short of amazing, helpful, caring, and willing to answer all questions. Unfortunately, with all surgeries there is a price tag attached. Diesel’s surgeries are looking somewhere between $8,500 to $9,400. And this is why this go fund me account is being created. Diesel has been described by his medical staff as “one tough cookie” and a stealer of hearts and kisses from the staff. It breaks my heart to see him go through the recovery knowing that even more recovery time is coming, but he is a fighter and ready for the next step.
