Hello,

My name is Diego and I am starting this due to a recent diagnosis of colon cancer. I am a father to 3 grown children and a Papa to 3 grandbabies. As everyone knows, your world gets turned upside down when you, a family member or a friend hear the word cancer.

I went into the hospital at the end of June this year thinking I had appendicitis. Although I am very grateful that I went in, there was a mass found in my lower abdomen that needed to be removed. 2 days after going into the hospital i had a colon resection. I found out it was stage 3 cancer around 2 weeks later. This has taken a toll on my mental health as well as my physical health. I am unable to work since my initial surgery and cannot return to work until my chemotherapy has been completed.

Every day since has been a struggle. Scheduling various appointments, taking new medications and struggling at home.

I am starting chemotherapy, and this will last for 6 months. I cannot work during this time and paying my rent to stay in my home, buying groceries and paying my bills has been extremely difficult.
