Hi everyone,

My name is Stephanie Hernandez and I’m reaching out for help for my sweet cat, Diego. Diego is more than just a pet he’s my best friend and the bravest little fighter I know.

Diego was born with a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, which affects his coordination and balance. On top of that, two years ago, he was diagnosed with megacolon, a serious condition that makes it hard for him to pass stool. That year, he became dangerously constipated and had to be rushed to the emergency room. I was told I might have to put him down—but thanks to the generosity of strangers on TikTok, I was able to get him the care he needed to come home with me. He’s been with me ever since, happy and full of love.

Since then, I’ve worked hard to manage his condition at home. I put him on a daily routine that included at-home enemas and Miralax, which helped keep him regular and out of the hospital. Enemas, in simple terms, are a procedure where we gently help him pass stool by introducing liquid into his rectum to soften and stimulate a bowel movement. It's not easy, but it’s been the key to keeping him alive and comfortable.

Unfortunately, in recent weeks, there’s been a shortage of feline enemas. I couldn’t get them in time and Diego went over a week without pooping. On Friday, I had to rush him back to the ER. This time, he’s even more impacted than before, and the treatment is more complex and urgent.

Diego is still fighting. He still purrs. He still looks at me with trust and love in his eyes, and I refuse to give up on him now.
