Help Diedra save Tuc

If you know Diedra, you know how much she gives to others — especially the dogs she cares for in our Livingston community. Now she needs our help: to help save the life of her own dog, Tuc.

Last week, Tuc became very ill. Diedra took him to the local vet, only to learn that he had a serious heart condition and that she would need to travel to Fort Collins, CO for the care he needs to survive. Tuc saved Diedra's life several years ago: She trained him as a psychiatric service dog to help her overcome debilitating conditions. So she only thought it fitting to try and save his life, too. Plus, Tuc is only five years old.

Diedra immediately made the eight-hour drive to provide Tuc the help he requires.

He is still in the diagnosing phase, and his condition is complex. Although his team of specialists is still unsure of the cause, we do know that his liver and heart are in critical condition. They told Diedra that he is the talk of the hospital. A conservative course of treatment was tried, but his body did not react as expected. He then had a biopsy, and we are awaiting the results, which we hope will be definitive.

Tuc is a fighter. He is now receiving the greatest care available, but naturally, this comes at a price: Diedra has already spent at least $7,000, and that's before the likely heart surgery he will require.

Diedra isn't one to ask for help (like, ever), but if there's one time, this is it. She's cared for so many of our dogs in the community; reciprocating the help, however much, will be deeply appreciated. Thank you!
