Help Dianne McPhearson Fight Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
Dianne McPhearson is a loving grandmother, mother, and friend to many. As many have known, Dianne was diagnosed with late stage Ovarian Cancer two years ago in September 2022. She has gone through more than anyone should encounter in a lifetime. She is a fighter, and with her strong faith she continues to persevere through each day.
Shortly after her cancer diagnosis, she developed a bleeding hematoma from a routine paracentesis to remove 5L of fluid from her abdomen. She had a suboptimal cancer resection due to the progression of her disease. Two days post op, Dianne developed bilateral pulmonary embolus and a bowel obstruction which led her to have a longer hospital stay.
In August 2023, Dianne fell and tore her Achilles tendon and had to have surgery. Her ankle took an extra long time to heal due to chemotherapy. She is unable to walk long distances due to tendon repair not being stable.
Dianne has endured 19 chemo treatments in 24 months at MD Anderson and chemo still continues today. In January 2024, she was found to have a bacterial and fungal infection in her lungs due to a low immune status. Treatment includes 18 months of antibiotic therapy and frequent follow ups with an Infectious Disease Doctor at MD Anderson.
An unexpected hospitalization at the end of February due to sepsis, has not kept her down.
A repeat scan was done 10/28/24, showed that she has another Pulmonary Embolus despite being on a blood thinner. She will now be taking injections too. Her tumors and lymph nodes have not increased or decreased since scan in late July.
Dianne’s next step in her cancer journey will be alternative therapy along with 3 more rounds of traditional chemo and then a repeat CT scan in January. As insurance doesn’t pay for alternative therapy, please consider supporting Dianne so she can continue to fight the BEAST of Ovarian Cancer!
Dianne has a heart to fight like no other. If u ask her how she is feeling, it’s always “I feel fine.” You would never know what she has gone through. She deserves every chance to continue her cancer journey with every breath she has left!!
