On September 1st, Diane will be leaving her home in New Hampshire and traveling to Philadelphia to be by her son Casey’s side as he undergoes the fight of his life — a double lung transplant. Casey’s transplant will take place at a specialized medical center in Philadelphia, where he will need to remain for a minimum of six months for surgery, recovery, and intensive follow-up care. This is a critical step toward giving Casey the chance to breathe freely for the first time in his life, but it also means that Diane must put her life on hold, leave her job, and live hundreds of miles away from home to support her son every day.
