My friend Diane and her Macaw Kamokie desperately need your help. For us that know them, we know that Kamokie isnt just her bird, he is her son. They have been together almost 30 years and the bond ave love between them goes very deep!

When a Teflon pan is burned, it releases toxic fumes called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which can quickly become fatal to parrots due to their sensitive respiratory systems.

The fumes can cause immediate and severe respiratory distress, leading to symptoms like panting, gasping, and incoordination, and can result in rapid death, even if the bird is in another room.

That's what happened yesterday. Kamokie has been at the emergency vet hospital since in an oxygen chamber, receiving different medications etc. he had shown some improvement today but still needs more blood tests done, and more medical treatments possibly like bronchodilator, antimicrobial, iv treatment and needs to remain in the oxygen chamber already the next couple of days.

The very bills are already growing and my friends need all the help they can get!

Diane is an amazing, good hearted person and has done so much for so many even if it meant going without herself! She had always been such an independent hard working woman but just had a bunch of unexpected medical expenses for herself this month as well and has drained her finances. She would give her life for another. Help show her that all her generosity hadn't gone unnoticed. Kamokie is her world, her heart, her purpose each day.

These bills could easily run into thousands of dollars for continued care over the next few days. He is worth it! Kamokie has so much personality, normally so full of life, and when you see the love he shows her and the love she has towards him in return... I cannot imagine that love coming to such a traffic end. Her heart is broken as are the hearts of many others who know these two personally.
