Help Diane & Hal Carter Overcome Medical Crises

Imagine facing a mountain of medical bills that seem insurmountable. In July 2020, Diane was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Follicular Lymphoma, requiring four rounds of outpatient chemotherapy. Thankfully, the cancer is assumed to be in remission, but soon after, COVID hit. During quarantine, Diane suffered a catastrophic fall in a bike accident, breaking her kneecap and tearing her patellar tendon. Surgery and ten weeks of rehab followed, just to regain the ability to walk.

In January 2021, Diane experienced chest pain and was found to have a pulmonary embolism—both lungs filled with blood clots, attributed to the combination of her fall, cancer, surgery, and COVID. The challenges didn’t stop there. After a routine mammogram in 2023, Diane was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a grade 3 breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy and four rounds of radiation. Then, in September 2023, she was diagnosed with triple hit, high-grade B-cell lymphoma, requiring aggressive chemotherapy and multiple hospitalizations for continuous treatment.

Throughout all of this, Hal has been Diane’s full-time caregiver, unable to work due to her needs. Their only income is Social Security and a small retirement from Diane’s previous work. Recently, Diane suffered another fall, breaking her nose and requiring surgery. On Valentine’s Day, Hal collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in his lung and needed emergency surgery. The cost of medications and treatments is overwhelming, and they have exhausted all other resources.

We are reaching out to family, friends, neighbors—old and new—and anyone who understands the challenges of medical crises. Your support will help us pay for ongoing and past medical treatments, surgeries, medications, and living expenses. We are deeply grateful for any assistance you can provide. Thank you to everyone who has helped or will help us. Bless you!
