Hip Replacement Surgery-Every Dollar Helps
Hello, my name is Diane Gordon. I am one of 10 siblings, and our beloved mother is 83. I’ve always been the breadwinner in my family, something I really take pride in, and the current situation I’m in has presented a real challenge.
I had to undergo hip replacement surgery because of severe genetically-linked arthritis.
After many years, performing a hip replacement became necessary. As my livelihood is directly tied to my physical recovery, I’ve taken some time that was needed to heal completely to ensure I can return to the stage at my best.
Due to a period of unemployment with no Social Security disability benefits, I have exhausted my personal savings and am experiencing significant financial hardship.
Due to persistent swelling and nerve pain following my recovery from hip surgery, I have had a setback. Once again, I will be out of work to undergo a nerve block procedure.
By the grace of God, I have no regrets about the hip surgery as it has changed my life for the better. I really miss being on stage. Performing is my saving grace.
I just want to get back on my feet again and pay my own way doing what I love.
There is a persistent anxiety within me about the prospect of possible eviction and the terrifying possibility of being forced out of my apartment with nowhere to go.
Update:
I am scheduled to have my nerve block surgery procedure on November 13th which I was still out of work while I recover.
Update: December 11, 2025
I had the nerve block procedure surgery done on November 13th.
Unfortunately, the procedure did not work. I still have numbness swelling and pain in my left hip.
The surgeon who performed my hip replacement expressed a further follow up with an orthopedic specialist possibly (CRPS) Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
CRPS is a rare chronic pain condition where pain is disproportionate to the surgery causing severe burning swelling, stemming from nerve dysfunction often presenting weeks after surgery and requiring early multidisciplinary treatment.
i’m struggling with so much pain is very difficult. I haven’t been able to work.
My heart is overwhelmed with sadness with the amount of pain and struggles that are going on for so many is heartbreaking. I pray for change and peace of mind for everyone.
I am respectfully asking for any assistance possible with paying my rent and utilities during this time. My apartment monthly rent is $1650 and my utility bills estimate is around $900 a month. I am asking for the minimum of $8000 to cover my bills for the next couple of months as I continue to navigate my recovery process. Every donation is appreciated no matter the amount. If you are not able to donate share with your friends and family, as it would to me.
God bless you all.❤️ I am forever grateful for any assistance you can provide.
