Help Diane and family rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Update:
My knee surgery went well Monday morning. I have 26 staples at the surgical site. I was able to clean a lot more debris from the fire and aftermath of Hurricane Helena. I need to complete cleaning up burn debris on the ground surrounding what's left of my tiny home. My plan is to build walls , frame out windows and a door to at least a 10 foot by 10 foot section of the building floor that is not damaged. I want to then hang insulation and set up a wood heater and begin to start over moving inside. I plan to put a tin roof on as well. I have been blessed with donations from my Amazon Wish List. I have an inflatable queen bed, sheets and a blanket.
* I continue to have a need for cleaning supplies, such as Chlorox Clean Up, batteries size AA, AAA and working gloves.
I'm so appreciative to everyone who has reached out with emotional support, monetary donations and donated supplies. Please keep us in your thoughts and I prayers. The need for supplies and monetary donations continues, so anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. I'm working on a Walmart Wish List to add to my account.
Thank you,
Diane
My name is Diane Chapman. I lost nearly everything in a home fire. This was my tiny home.
I received approval from WC to have a total knee replacement. Surgery scheduled for October 14.
I have been Door Dashing to make money. I do not think it would be fair to a potential employer to get hired for a nursing position and then have to take time off to recover from a total knee replacement. The surgery will have me out of work for 8-12 weeks. So, door dashing is my sole means to earn money at this time. I have depleted all of my savings.
The next thing to happen is the motor blew in my only means of transportation. I have been borrowing a vehicle from a family member to Door Dash to make money.
I have a 1979 camper, that is 40 feet long and planned on a starting over and live in the camper for the time being. My camper was vandalized and all the windows were busted out and most of the window frames are destroyed as well. The walls and flooring under the damaged windows now have water damage from the numerous Summer showers...No, I do not have insurance on the camper.
I need help with the following:
Grading work to set camper $1,000
Power pole $1,000
Down payment on building $500
Down payment on a car $1,000
Repairs on camper $800 rough estimate
Landfill cost estimated to be $400
---Estimated to have 3-4 more loads to haul off.
---I'm on the list for the Wheels to Work program through the Sharing House of Transylvania County, but I was informed that the wait time will probably be around 6 months before I will come up on the list for help. Looking at December possible before my name comes up.
I am so grateful that no one was injured from the fire and that my fur babies all survived. I'm struggling to feed them, but the generous donations of pet food has been a blessing. Moo, Kano, Saddy, Sully and Cornelius are my fur family and much needed pet therapy.
Losing most of everything I love and cherish to the fire has been devastating. I found the frame from my great grandmother's petal foot sewing machine and plan to refurbish this into a small table...
My passion is sewing quilts and unfortunately, I lost all my sewing machines, embroidery machines, sewing templates, quilting fabric and sewing accessories in the fire, so I'm struggling to find my joy and inner peace. I have never started a charity asking for help and struggle to write this on a logical manner. I have never been in a situation like this before. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Please share this post and know any donation is greatly appreciated.
