One of our dearest friends, Jeremiah, was recently diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and has only weeks left. Being too weak for chemotherapy, there is little that can be done other than make him as comfortable as possible. Needless to say, we are all devastated, especially his life partner and our close friend, Diane. Just last December the four of us flew to Europe together, not knowing how little time we had left with Jeremiah (pancreatic cancer presents almost no signs or symptoms until it begins shutting down life sustaining systems).

We are starting this GoFundMe to help Diane with the spiraling costs needed to support Jeremiah in his last few weeks without bringing on financial ruin. This includes the high costs of in-home care, celebration of life events, as well as helping her pay her bills while allowing her the time off work she needs to remain by Jeremiah's side in the hospital now, later at home, and for the heartbreaking grief she will have to endure. Diane has a strong group of friends and immediate family that are providing her support wherever we can. We would enormously appreciate any contribution you can muster, even if it's just a few dollars toward this GoFundMe goal.

Many of you know Jeremiah and appreciate his kind soul, his unique way of seeing the world and the people in it, and his infectious sense of humor that makes him so enjoyable to be around. Not only is he the largest person we know (6' 7"!), his kind spirit is somehow bigger. For those of you that don't know him well, he is a beautiful example of the best things our wonderful world has to offer. We will all miss him more than can be described, but we will always cherish the memories of spending quality time with him when he was healthy and enjoying life, the arts, music, and his close relationships with Diane and his tight group of friends.
