Title: Help My Son Gain Independence with a Mobility & Accessibility Upgrade

Story:

My name is Diana Reyes, and I am a single mother to my 24-year-old son, who is 100% disabled, paralyzed from the waist down, and confined to his wheelchair.

He faces many serious medical challenges, including:

Spina Bifida

Scoliosis

Bed Confinement

Microcephaly

Aphasia

Generalized Weakness

Other Lung Disease

Despite these difficulties, my son has a bright spirit and an incredible will to live. Unfortunately, our home is not accessible to meet his needs. He has been sleeping in our living room for the past two years because he cannot access his bedroom or bathroom safely. He hasn’t been able to bathe in our bathtub, sleep in his own bed, or enjoy the privacy and comfort every person deserves.

We are raising $7,539 to cover the cost of a mobility and accessibility upgrade for our home. This will allow my son to:

Safely move around the house

Access his bedroom and bathroom

Bathe in our bathtub without risk

Regain privacy, independence, and dignity

As a single parent on a fixed income, I cannot do this alone. Any contribution, big or small, will help change my son’s life in ways words can’t express.
