Our mother, Diana Thiry, had neck surgery earlier this year in August, it has since been a medical battle where she nearly lost her life. She developed a bacterial blood infection which lead to her having a stroke, the discovery of brain aneurysms, problematic kidney stones, pneumonia, the weakening of her heart, and more all in a short time frame. The blood infection completely attacked her heart leaving her to need open heart surgery on bypass to repair two valves on October 28, 2021 . The surgery was a success, however hours after the surgery she went into cardiac arrest and after 6 minutes she was brought back. She was in the ICU for over a week, intubated for most of that time while her body healed and grew strong enough to breath on its own. After being cleared from the ICU she was moved to the telemetry floor where she still resides with a picc line for an antibiotic that will be needed for 8 weeks to help with the blood infection. As of December 13, Diana was finally released from the hospital and will be in need of home health care for several weeks.
Our mom is the strongest woman and it is truly incredible the battles she has overcome. She is on a long road to recovery and it will not be an easy one. She still has many medical road blocks to overcome which will mean more procedures in the next couple of months. We are asking for help to raise money for medical bills, home healthcare, and other expenses needed for Diana’s recovery. Any help is greatly appreciated.
This fundraiser is brought to you by Diana’s four children: Jason Ables, Joey Ables, Amanda Thiry, and Ashley Williams.
More about Diana:
Those who know Diana, aka Goddess as she often introduced herself, know how bright and kind of a soul she truly is. Raising four children and loving her 5 grandchildren with the 6th on her way. Diana grew up in Fresno moved to Fremont, Valley Springs, and back to Fresno. Making friends every step of the way, we always said she could go into any place and come out with a friend for life. She has the most caring selfless heart which made her perfect as a Home Heath Care provider helping so many families. She is amazing at caring for others, but finds it a struggle being the patient herself. She has so much love to give. She did not come this far to give up now. With her will, perseverance, and the help from family and friends Diana will overcome this battle!
