Help Diana to Walk Again

Hello, my name is Chris Ingram and I am asking for your help to get my sister, Diana King, the medical care she desperately needs. Eighteen months ago, Diana was a dynamic force in the theatre. A playwright, an award-winning director and an English teacher, Diana has devoted her talent and energy to local Spanish theatres and charitable causes. Now she is wheelchair-bound, in constant excruciating pain, and slowly but relentlessly losing the use of her arms because she cannot afford an operation on the perforated disk in her back that is affecting her nerves and causing paralysis.

Recently, a private doctor told her bluntly, “You need surgery. Now. Otherwise you may never walk again.” But with no private insurance, Diana is dependent on the Spanish national healthcare system, where she has been passed from one doctor to another with a waiting time of months between visits, only to be told that as her case is not considered an “emergency,” they can do no more than prescribe her medication for the intense pain she suffers every day. That is why I am asking for your help.

The cost of the immediate in-home care Diana needs, the surgery, and the post-operative care is estimated at £40,000.
