Help Diana start to rebuild her life
Donation protected
Hi friends and family,
This is my Mum, Diana, and the place she calls her home in Woodburn.
In the past few days, she has lost everything to the wild & ruthless floods that hit Northern New South Wales.
Mum has always been an incredibly strong and resilient woman with many other beautiful qualities. However, these two qualities explain why, on Monday when I phoned her and asked, “Hey mum, how's it going, are you going to be alright? "
She assured me she would be, butted out a plan with her neighbour, prepared for what she thought could be the worst and went to bed.
The water rose 3 meters in a few hours, and by morning the two-story house was under with only the roof showing.
I sat down last night and looked around the room, pondering, what would happen if our home was completely underwater, what if we lost all the things that make it feel Ike a big warm heart.
Anything in a draw would perhaps stay put; if it's not waterproof, it's cactus.
Anything buoyant would float out of the house.
And if by some absolute miracle the house remains structurally sound, there still needs to be an engineer’s report done, waste removal, rewire the entire house, replaster the walls, repaint and so on.
No amount of money will replace the materialisations of a lifetime dedicated to the arts. All material things held close and dear to remember the sweetness of the past are gone.
But, most importantly we still have our Mum, and new memories will be made.
Although Mum would never expect help nor ask for it, I know that any donation that you are able to make would help her start to rebuild her life.
I have started a Go Fund Me page for mum and we would be eternally thankful for any donation you could make.
Thank You xx Ben and Ali
