Today, one of the kindest, hardest-working moms I know had her world turned upside down. Diana’s husband and daughter, Duri — who also worked for us, were taken by ICE, leaving her suddenly alone to raise her young son and keep a roof over their heads.

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my employee, Diana. She’s been such a dedicated and caring part of our team, and seeing her go through something so devastating breaks my heart. I can’t imagine what life feels like for her right now — suddenly having to raise her son alone and figure out how to keep everything together.

What makes this even harder is that Diana and her family did everything the right way. They came here legally, have their papers, work hard, and pay taxes. They’ve built an honest life here — and now, through no fault of their own, her family has been torn apart.

She now faces $1,800 in rent due, bills piling up after paying thousands in lawyer fees to try and get her family here, and no partner or family support. Despite everything, she continues to show up and stay strong for her little boy.

No one should have to face something like this alone. Every dollar will go directly toward helping Diana cover rent, childcare, and basic living expenses as she navigates this unimaginable situation.
