Help Diana Get The Healthcare She Needs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Diana and I’m a trans woman living in Arizona. You know me from high school, Magic: the Gathering, Model UN, or any of the various places I’ve been and things I’ve done. You might have known about the cool gender update and you might not have. If you didn’t, it’s nice to re-meet you as myself this time and not someone else I was forced to be.
I started transitioning in late summer 2021 and put simply: I need your help.
I need a body that I am safe in and I don’t have one. Trans healthcare is rapidly becoming more criminalized and it is a goal of the present administration to make it impossible for trans people to get the healthcare we need to survive long-term. I am trying to get access to some of these things before it becomes impossible.
Between me and a body I can survive in are several large financial hurdles. Trans healthcare is at best partially covered in some states and there are no affirmative protections for trans people in Arizona. I am fortunate that my insurance covers some procedures I need but the amount left uncovered is… Staggering. Even with the actual procedure(s) covered I am looking at travel, lodging for 1-3 weeks, and assistance costs in the tens of thousands of dollars.
The costs are ever-increasing so the sooner I get this all figured out the cheaper it will be. All the amounts are conditional on so many different things but these are my best guesses. This money will be used for the following things:
- Travel, lodging, and assistance for vaginoplasty in Washington, DC (thankfully, this surgery is supposed to be fully covered!)- $6,000
- Breast augmentation surgery- $9,750
- Travel, lodging, and assistance for breast augmentation in Phoenix $4,000
- Cushion to account for prices going up relative to current estimates (especially acute for travel and lodging)- $2,000
- Anything left over will go to helping me prepare to move somewhere safer while that is still an option
- Anything left after that will be given in mutual aid to other trans women who don’t have access to the community of loving and supportive friends and family that I have
Please donate and if you can't, please send this to someone who might be able to help. My friends and family mean the world to me and I would never have been able to do this without everyone's help.
Thank you.
