My name is Dhimiter Qerim. I am 43 years old and from Korçë, Albania.

Until last year, I was living a normal life. Everything changed after prostate surgery on March 20, 2025.

Following the operation, I began experiencing serious complications, including difficulty urinating, numbness in my legs, and continuous fluid leakage. Then, on April 8, my condition suddenly became much worse. I lost the ability to move both of my legs and was left with severe pain.

For the past several months, I have been hospitalized in Korçë and Tirana, undergoing countless tests, including angiography (DSA), in the hope of finding answers. My family has already spent more than 10 million Albanian lek on medical care, yet my condition continued to deteriorate.

With the help of friends, I traveled to Thessaloniki, Greece, where doctors started a completely new evaluation. After additional angiography and two MRI scans, including one with contrast, specialists finally discovered the cause of my paralysis. They found severe complications affecting my spinal cord, believed to be related to the spinal anesthesia administered during my prostate surgery. Doctors have told me that without urgent treatment, I risk permanent paralysis.

I now need a highly specialized surgery that costs €15,000 to €20,000. My surgery is scheduled for July 12, and time is running out.
