My wife and I met the love of our lives in the summer of 2015. While volunteering at a local animal rescue, one of the workers mentioned a dog that we would love. We showed up to an adoption event and before we could meet the pup that was suggested, our girl Dezzy slipped and slid through every other family's grip and dove into my lap. As soon as she put her head against me, I knew, "this is my family." I didn't say a word; my wife was already searching for the car keys so we could race home for our checkbook. Since that day, Dezzy has been the most important part of our lives. Our ring bearer, our hiking partner, our cuddles when times are tough. She is our world. As time went on, we realized that we would someday need to say goodbye, but none of us, especially Dezzy, is ready for that any time soon. Unfortunately, the world threw a curveball, and Dezzy developed a locally aggressive form of soft tissue cancer that blew up to the size of a tennis ball within a month and a half.
We need to remove the mass before this cancer spreads and does her any harm. Our vet has high hopes that it will be easily removed and that she has a very high likelihood of full recovery with many happy years ahead of her.
I cannot express to you how much we love our Dezzy. We are called crazy dog parents by nearly everyone that knows us. And we are not ready to live a life without our dog daughter in it.
I'm not a person that often asks for help in my personal life, but this time I need it. We need it. We need our girl to live a long, happy, healthy life.
From the bottom of our hearts, my wife and I appreciate any help that you can offer. And it goes without question Dezzy will too.
Thank you all!
