Help Dezaray and her family - Medical Emergency
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brenda Kissner, and I am fundraising for my daughter Dezaray Micklevitz Sharpe who had surgery on October 17th, which didn't go as expected. She was flown flight for life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee and is currently in ICU fighting for her life.
Since arriving at Froedtert Hospital, she was put on a ventalator, has undergone multiple surgeries, and received serval blood transfusions. Due to complications from the initial surgery, Dezaray has sustained significant damage to her intestinal tract, pancreas and internal infection. Her abdomen remains open with a drain pump to remove the fluids leaking from her pancreas. She has undergone daily surgeries to clean out the abdominal cavity. A stent has been placed in the main artery leading to the pancreas opening to stop the leaking. The attempt to prevent the leaking has not yet been successful. We will continue to update family and friends on her progress, but the doctors have told us that she is not "out of the woods" yet.
For those of you who do not know Dezaray, she is a single mother of four children, with three still living at home. She is a self-employed CNA who has spent the past seven years caring for others. Due to her self-employment, she does not have disability insurance for this unfortunate error from the surgery, which has placed a financial burden on her and her family.
We would appreciate any assistance you may be able to give to help them through this difficult time. We also ask that you keep Dezaray and her family in your prayers.
