Hello all! I'm Dexter/Dillon!

I have been a part of the St. Cloud community since 2010 and I live here with my husband and our two cats. I worked for a human services provider for 12 years (8 years direct care and 4 years of corporate recruitment) and was sadly laid off in September of 2024. I have been working so hard as a DoorDash delivery driver while tweaking my resume, applying for over 200 jobs, and networking. I have had several leads that have all ended with my being rejected for another more qualified candidate. Money has been so tight, my husband and I are incredibly stressed and trying our best to hold everything together.

At the end of August 2025, my car began overheating during a DoorDash delivery. After taking it to the shop, the repairs are going to cost much more than I anticipated (even with a friends and family discount at the shop) and with funds being so tight, I've been unable to put anything into savings for emergencies like this.

And if that wasn't enough, this week (9/25/25), my cell phone—which is essential for me to do my job as a DoorDasher—broke and I'm no longer able to use the Dasher app on my device. My husband and I are working out a plan to upgrade me from my broken phone to his old phone; however, this will take time and I am unable to work in the meantime.

Unemployment/underemployment is no joke. Not only are finances a stress, with bills piling up, but the constant stress and worry of what tomorrow will bring and the repeated disappointment of getting rejection email after rejection email. I even tried to revive my old OnlyFans account but that was a failure and now with my phone broken it's even harder to make content.

My mental health and self-esteem are at rock bottom. I cry daily and have been stuck in survival mode for over a year now. I am doing everything I can to take care of my family, but I keep coming up short every week. I was encouraged by my therapist and several friends to ask for help when I need it, so here I am, asking for help.

I am asking for donations, if you are able, to cover my car repairs, lost income that would go to rent and bills that have been looming over me.

I cannot tell you what this would mean, for me to be able to get my car back and not have the fear of eviction, collections calls to add to my stress. I am still working hard to find a stable, full-time job. I'm using every skill that I have at my disposal, but getting these expenses taken care of would relieve so much stress while I keep looking for that job that will change everything for us.

UPDATE 11/20/25:

Come one, come all, it’s happening again.

This morning I got certified for an employment program for people with disabilities and I got my first Amazon Flex delivery shift. About 75% of the way through my first delivery shift the tire came off of my car. If you are able to, please consider donating to my GoFundMe. I will need money to repair my car as well as to recoup the money that I would’ve made driving for Amazon/DoorDash this week. I’m really struggling, every time I start to lose hope and get myself together and get ready to fight my way through it, something like this happens. I’m doing everything I can. I’ve applied to over 100 jobs in the last five months and I’ve been driving for DoorDash as much as possible. I don’t know what else to do at this point. I am exhausted and I’m losing hope.
