On March 16th, our family experienced every pet owner's worst fear when Dexter, my daughter's 8-month-old dog, went missing. For nearly 20 hours, we searched and worried, but thanks to the power of Facebook and the kindness of our neighbors, a wonderful lady found Dexter and kept him safe until we could bring him home. When Dexter returned, he seemed agitated and needy, but we hoped it was just stress from his ordeal. That night, however, he suffered a seizure, and then another early the next morning. We rushed him to the vet, who prescribed anti-seizure medication, but his condition only worsened. We took him to the North Mississippi Emergency Pet Clinic, where tests revealed that Dexter had somehow ingested several dangerous medications, including Oxycodone, an antidepressant, and Adderall. Since March 17th, Dexter has been under constant care at the emergency clinic, where he is being kept sedated to prevent further seizures. The veterinary team is doing everything they can, and while they believe Dexter has a chance to recover, his road ahead is uncertain and the costs are mounting. The funds raised here will go directly toward Dexter's emergency vet bills and ongoing care as he fights to recover. Our family is deeply grateful for any support you can offer—whether it's a donation or simply sharing Dexter's story. Everyone's support is greatly appreciated!
