Help Dexter Overcome FIP

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
We adopted Dexter from the shelter a few months ago as a four month old kitten. He is now 7 months old. He is a cautious but curious boy. He enjoys exploring new things, even though he is slow to at the start. He does not like being alone which makes him the best companion at home. He likes to follow people around to see what's going on. Dexter is known to put on a show for food by becoming vocal. If that doesn't work, he uses his ultimate move on us and rolls on the floor, belly up, chirping. He knows he is cute and uses it against us which often works. Aside from hunting and playing with toys, Dexter stays engaged by watching his favorite show Bluey, or having back-and-forth conversations with us by barking (not even kidding, this man barks and it's sooo cute). When he feels like it, he'll try to herd us or wait patiently for us to go to bed with him. In bed, Dexter purrs, kneads his baby blanket, and will often inch closer for evening cuddles and hand holding. Despite only having him for a few months, we have fallen in love with him and hold him close to our hearts.

A few weeks ago, he started acting odd, not eating or moving around like he normally does. He would sit in one spot and meow hoarsely at us when we walked past. We took him to the vet and were devastated to hear that he has FIP, a lethal disease that claims many young cats. We were told that he would die within the week as there is no legal way to receive professional medical attention. Fortunately, we were connected to some people that were able to get us access to a recently developed treatment that has shown to work for many cat parents. Unfortunately, it is incredibly expensive, not covered by insurance, and we are two college students with little disposable income. We want to give him the best chance to beat this, but we cannot afford the entirety of the treatment. It requires 84 days of injections, and we need money for vials of the treatment and other supplies.

Dexter is our world and has already taught us so much about ourselves and about what love is. We just hope to be able to return the favor by providing him with as much healthy, joyous living as we can in his little life. We would appreciate any donation that can go towards helping us afford the treatment, no matter how big or small. Any money that is left over will be donated to other cats with FIP.
