Help Dexter Get the Care , Family time, He Deserves
Donation protected
Hi, we’re Terry, Jim, and Bart, and we’re reaching out for help with something very close to our hearts — getting medical care for our dog, Dexter, and giving him the care and comfort he deserves during this hard time.Update on Dexter
We are staying home with Dexter and giving him all the love and care we can. I am not leaving him — he is still eating some and watching us, and I want every minute with him to be peaceful and close to us.
Because of this, I am missing work and may even lose my job, but this is where I need to be right now. We are also facing two more large vet bills from yesterday’s visits, on top of not having income this week.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared — it means more than I can say. If anyone is able to share again or offer any additional support, it would help us so much during this very hard time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Dexter is more than just a dog — he’s family. He’s been our steady companion through so many chapters: loss, love, daily struggles, and everything in between. He’s loyal, sweet, and still full of heart, even as he’s been feeling worse lately.
Recently, he’s lost weight, stopped eating normally, and just hasn’t been himself. After multiple vet visits (including two emergency trips), he was diagnosed with anaplasmosis, and a shadow showed up on his X-ray that might mean something more serious.
We’re doing everything we can — medications, hand-feeding, comfort, vet visits — and have already paid quite a bit out of pocket. But the reality is, there may be more care, testing, or even surgery ahead. And that’s just one part of it.
I (Terri) work as an in-home caregiver — I love what I do, but if I miss a day of work, I don’t get paid. What I want most is time. Time to stay home with Dexter, to keep him comfortable, to give him the love and attention he needs without having to worry about falling behind on bills.
If you feel moved to help, whether by donating or simply sharing this, it would mean the world to all of us. Every dollar will go toward his care — and toward giving him peace, comfort, and time surrounded by the people who love him most.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Terri, Jim, Bart & Dexter
I also have all current medical receipts, if anyone needs to see. Thank you.
