My dog Dexter has always been a source of comfort and joy in my life, but he hasn’t always had it easy. I rescued Dexter after he was repeatedly abused as a puppy. When he was finally surrendered by his abuser, he needed extensive surgery on his arm to repair the damage. During his recovery post-op, Dexter faced a medical emergency, and soon after, developed parvovirus. All of this left him with severe anxiety, but through it all, he’s shown incredible strength and resilience. Despite his tough start, Dexter is a true lover at heart—he adores cuddling, giving kisses, and has always protected me, even against sketchy neighbors when we lived in Los Angeles. He’s truly been a blessing in my life.

Now, Dexter is facing another battle: cancer. He has two malignant masses—one on his elbow and another on his bum—that both need to be surgically removed. The mass on his elbow is especially concerning because of its tricky placement, and it will require a board-certified surgeon to ensure the best outcome. As a full-time student who isn’t currently working, I’m struggling to cover the costs of these urgent procedures and the care Dexter will need afterward.

Dexter’s recovery won’t be easy. After surgery, he’ll need to be bedridden and kept from extending his arm, which means he’ll require constant attention and special care. The funds raised will go directly toward his surgeries, medications, and the aftercare that will help him heal and hopefully return to his happy, loving self. Every little bit helps, and your support would mean the world to both of us as we face this difficult journey together.
