Help Dexter and Family Through This Difficult Time

Donation protected
Yesterday I learned that Dexter had a small accident, that went horribly wrong. Please help me lift him and his family up with prayers and support as they navigate this difficult time. I know neither of them will be happy about me doing this, as they are not the type to ask for help, but always willing to help others.

"So, I typically only post things about my kids on here to show family and friends near and far what rad humans they are becoming. This post is a bit different.
I feel inclined to give a little detail into the last week or so of our lives and offer a mini public service announcement. IF YOU THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG MEDICALLY WITH A LOVED ONE, TAKE THEM TO THE DOCTOR. I am sure there are people that will think that adults have autonomy and can make their own medical decisions, but oftentimes one's personal judgement about their own health is skewed.
The background: My husband, Dexter, fell off a ladder at work last week. This is not uncommon. In his construction profession he often comes home injured and in pain. I didn't think anything of it. His pain got progressively worse. I encouraged him to make a doctor's appointment and he was stubborn. He declined to do so. So I got stubborn and decided to ignore the overwhelming pain that was taking over his body. The stubbornness from both of us almost killed him. I do not say that to sound dramatic.
This week: On Monday afternoon I was so annoyed (yes you read that right, annoyed) with his constant complaining that I made an appointment with urgent care and literally pushed him into the car. He wanted to wait until Tuesday afternoon to go. My intuition told me we could not wait. We were seen at urgent care and immediately the doctor called our local ER and let them know we were coming. "Go straight there, do not stop for anything" the doctor said.
We got to the ER and they immediately brought us back into a room and began drawing several vials of blood, giving X-rays and cat scans.
We were told he needed emergency surgery and depending on what they found would dictate his quality of life going forward.
I was terrified.
When he fell last week he got a hematoma that got infected with a very rare flesh eating bacteria and he became septic. Had we waited until the next day amputation was probably and death possible.
Now: I am overjoyed to write that doctors successfully removed all of the bacteria from his leg on the first try. He spent two nights in the ICU and was moved to a general surgery floor to begin his long journey back to health and hopefully full mobility
We are INCREDIBLY lucky. It is scary to think how him being out of work for the foreseeable future will impact us as a family but I know as long as we are together, we can overcome anything."
