Hiyah, my name is Dexter! Many call me Dexie. Some weirdo calls me Sausage Noodle. My favorite things to do are walking in the park, playing fetch, sleeping on my humans’ laps, and going to see my friends at the vet! “It’s nice for someone to be happy to see me for once,” the vet tech said once! I also love getting the best belly rubs ever like a champ. I can give kisses like nobody’s business. But coach had to pull me out of the game due to a devastating assault by a much larger dog.

I was walking with my human’s best friend and that weirdo, when I thought I spotted a new friend across the street. But instead of a friendly greeting, this beast of a dog rammed into me, going for the kill. That weirdo? He pulled him off of me while mama’s bestie swiped me away. The clashing of fangs nipped her and ripped me new one on my little leg.

I was lucky. My humans saved me despite the opposing human not leashing his dog. I underwent surgery, and 4 hours later, I’m in an uncomfortable green cast, a bigger than necessary cone, (because I’m a naughty escape artist) and some of the best pain meds this old pup could get. That was not the way I like to go see the vet, but it was nice to meet new people and smell new smells at the emergency office!

But… I’m not out of the woods. The doggie door for infection has not closed. Last I checked, I wasn’t peeing on any money trees to help my mommy with my veterinarian bills. I need your help. We are humbly requesting financial support. Any amount will help, because this elderly dog may still got a lot of fight left but ain’t getting Lassie’s paycheck.

Dawn was walking Dexter to the park like she has thousands of times, but what started as a beautiful day quickly became a traumatic one. The other dog that attacked was off-leash across the street and ran at them unprovoked. Her boyfriend (aka the Weirdo) got the dog off of Dexter and calmed down while Dawn fled the scene with Dexter.
