Hey everyone! This is not something I would normally do, but the circumstances have gotten a little tense and I need some help. Some of you know this already and some of you don’t so here goes. Last Monday on November 10th, I got a terrible headache and I couldn’t walk. I had been experiencing an awful persistent headache for almost 3 weeks. I was hospitalized, but they didn’t know what was wrong. On the 12th while still in the hospital I had another headache, and after some more testing they confirmed that I had two pretty significant strokes as the result of a head injury about a month prior. Thankfully, I am expected to make a full recovery and I don’t have any cognitive damage besides some short term memory loss. However, my balance and coordination have been impacted, and I am struggling to get around how I used to, and I am unable to work (for now.) I am doing physical and occupational therapy to get back to my old self, but the timing of this could not be any worse.

McKenzie and I, and our two pets Ubbe and Cersei have just moved into a new apartment here in Denver, and I am supposed to start school at FRCC in January to finish getting a degree. I can’t work yet, and temporary disability is still a ways out with appointments and paperwork being big hurdles between now and then. We are already feeling the pressure as bills start rolling in, and McKenzie is working her ass off to help take care of me and keep the wolves away while I am recovering. We have both worked extremely hard to get where we are emotionally and mentally, but the stress is mounting every day. We just need a little bit of love and support from our community, family and friends to make sure this little setback doesn’t become an unstoppable landslide that takes our housing and stability.

I am keenly aware that times are tough for everyone right now, but truly ANYTHING is helpful, and EVERYTHING is appreciated.
