Hi, my name is Eric McKee and this year I have met Devynn - the love of my life. For the past 5 months, Devynn has experienced increasingly severe back pain that has affected all aspects of her life. At the end of August, we finally decided to visit the ER to try to address this pain. Based on the diagnostics gathered during this visit, the doctor expressed a great concern on his findings and informed us that Devynn has a large mass in her chest, and we should seek more evaluation and treatment immediately. After a biopsy last month, it was determined that Devynn has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. At this time, we do not know which stage she is in but will have results shortly.
Needless to say, this news was such a shock to us. Our plans for fun, to move back down to LA or Orange County from the High Desert and travel are all on hold until we get a handle on treatment. Medical bills and everyday expenses are building up and anticipating significant financial struggle, I am humbly asking for financial support from friends and family and anyone else that loves Devynn and wants to see her live comfortably through one of the toughest challenges of her, and my, life. In the interest of transparency, below is the breakdown of how this money will be used:
- $8,000 - Max out of pocket medical expense per year. The projected timeline for treatment is 6 months.
- $2,000 - Wigs, microblading and anything else that will make her feel comfortable during Chemo treatment.
- $1,000 - Care for our animals. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs, and we want to continue to feed them well.
- $1,000 - Moving Expenses and other miscellaneous costs.
- Any funds not used - we will use to throw a big party to celebrate the end of treatment. Whether or not there is money left over, we will still throw a well-deserved party.
Devynn is one of the most loving, supremely goofy spirits I have ever met. She brings so much joy to my life and lives of many. I am so grateful for her presence in my life and it is my hope that she can heal as comfortably as possible and continue being the bundle of light in this world. Thank you to all the friends and family that have sent warm wishes and support through all this.
