Hi, my name is Devyn but you can call me Mae-Mae or Devy. When I was one day shy of my 8-month-old birthday my parents found out I had something called Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which I guess is pretty bad. BUT, I'm pretty tough and now that I'm 9 months old and my doctors have a plan to kick this thing, I'm on my way to remission. My mom and dad say there is still a long, hard road for me. I still need to undergo 4 more intense rounds of chemo where me, my mom Brooke and my dad Scott will have to live at the hospital for a month each time. The chemo wipes out my immune system and I have to be closely monitored every day. (That means I can't fight off infections and I sometimes have to do blood transfusions and get other IV medications). After each round of chemo, I need to have my bone marrow test and a lumbar puncture (don't ask!). (I won't even mention the labs, feeding tube (I yank that thing out every chance I get!) and anesthesia). The doctors say if I have clean results the next 4 times, they will consider me cancer free! This is the best possible outcome for this type of leukemia, and I know I'll get there. All of this doctoring and staying in the hospital can get to be a little hard and I want to help out my mom and dad, they deserve it for being awesome parents. (My sissy and bro are pretty cool too). So here's the sucky part. Since this all started, mom isn't able to go to work right now at all and dad had to cut way back on his job to be with me in the hospital. I'm not complaining, I love having them with me, but it's going to cost alot of money. I'm humbly asking, if you're able, to make any donation you can or say some extra prayers. It would be greatly appreciated and will help me reach my goal to be cancer free and get back home to my dogs Tonk and Stella. Thanks for reading my story and helping my family and me. I got this (with your help!). Love, Devy
