Hello, my name is Sophial Ivey, and I am raising funds for my beloved son, Dev’Vin Jar’tez Ivey, who was seriously injured in a traumatic accident on February 7, 2026.
On that day, Dev’Vin had crossed the road to get to his vehicle, which was parked on the opposite side of the street. As he was walking, he seen a car coming and turned to see his young daughter running toward him. In a split second, Dev’Vin ran back to grab her and get her out of the road. Baby girl is safe! Dev’Vin was struck by a speeding vehicle to save her life. He chose himself before her.
Emergency services rushed him by ambulance to a nearby school so he could be airlifted to the trauma unit at the hospital in Macon Georgia. His injuries were severe, and he had to undergo surgery on both of his legs for 4-6 hours involving metal rods being placed in each one. He must have rehabilitation to learn to walk again. He also has extensive occupational and physical therapy for 1 to 2 hours each day
This is mental draining on Dev’Vin causing him to experience depressive moods, not being independent anymore and not able to work due to disabling conditions.
This has been a devastating and life-changing experience for our family. Dev’Vin is now facing a long road to recovery that will include:
• Multiple medical treatments and follow-up care
• Physical therapy and rehabilitation
• Medications and medical equipment
• Transportation to ongoing appointments
• Daily living support while he is unable to work
This accident has caused a financial burden to myself and Dev’Vin. Our goal is $50,000 to help cover the overwhelming medical expenses and ensure Dev’Vin can focus on healing without the added stress of financial hardship.
All contributions will be highly appreciated and welcoming and will be used strictly for Dev’Vin’s medical care and recovery needs as well as help taking care of his daughter who is doing well and is up playing, and on facetime with her daddy every day. Dev’Vin is a loving father who risked his life to save his child. Now we are asking for the community’s help to support him as he fights to walk and regain his independence again. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser and keep Dev’Vin in your prayers. Every share and every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
Sophial Ivey and Family
