Hi, my name is Kara Lindsey, and I'm raising funds for my sister, Laura Lund, who was in a serious car accident on the night of Saturday, May 11th. She was first taken to Pardee Hospital and then transferred to Mission Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. Doctors determined that she suffered a broken tibia along with at least one other fracture in her foot.

On Mother’s Day morning, Laura underwent surgery to stabilize her leg with metal pins and screws placed through the bone and connected to a stabilizing bar outside the skin. She is still in the hospital and will undergo a second surgery by the end of the week to insert internal plates to properly align and secure the broken bone.

Laura is a dedicated massage therapist and a mom to two boys, ages 11 and 8. Because of her injuries and the nature of her job, she has been told she won’t be able to return to work for at least 8 weeks, possibly longer. This has created an overwhelming financial burden for her during a time when she should be focusing solely on healing.

I'm raising funds to help cover Laura’s basic living expenses and bills during these next few months — things like her mortgage, car payments, utilities, and daily needs for herself and her kids. Laura is strong and resilient (truly the most pain-tolerant person I’ve ever known!), and she’s someone who always tries to handle things on her own.
