My name is Sonja, and I am fundraising for my son, DeVonn Wyatt Jr. DeVonn is 14 years old, and he is a caring, intelligent, and loving young person who enjoys playing video games and spending time with family and friends. He dreams of living a life without constant medication and frequent doctor appointments, something he has been dealing with since May 27, 2020.
DeVonn was diagnosed with kidney disease and a dysfunctional bladder during the COVID pandemic. Recently, we learned that he has had this condition since birth. Over the years, our lives have revolved around strict dietary restrictions, regular doctor visits, and monthly lab work. DeVonn has been hospitalized at least once a year, often due to viral bugs at school that affect his kidneys. Thankfully, since 2024, he has not needed nightly catheterization as he has grown into his body. Despite these hardships, he remains resilient and hopeful.
DeVonn was recently placed on the kidney transplant list, though he is currently inactive until we complete vaccine titers, blood work, and dental clearance. The funds raised will help us cover medical bills, travel expenses for treatments, medication, lost wages, and household bills. They will also help us care for DeVonn's sister, Ennovy, while we are away for his medical needs. We would be so grateful for your support and help. Any donations would be gratefully appreciated by myself and DeVonn. If you would like to be a Living Donor, you can reach out to the Live Kidney Donor Program at (414) [phone redacted] or www.froedtert.com/transplant.
