My name is Santana and I am starting this GoFundMe for my friend, Devon. Recently, Devon suffered a severe spinal injury, crushing his C5 and C6 disks and causing central cord syndrome. He is a bass player and bartender who has lost feeling and control in his hands due to these injuries, resulting in not being able to practice his hobbies. He needs surgery to replace these disks and get him back in a position where he can gain a full quality of life. The hospital will not perform the surgery without the copay upfront, and since this was an unexpected life-changing injury, he and his wife don't have the full funds available to go forward with this necessary surgery. He has been out of work because of the injury for several weeks, which isn't helping him get the funds for the surgery.
