Hello,
My name is Devon Groner, a father of four wonderful children (ages 2-12) and husband to an incredible wife. Like many American families, we’ve faced relentless financial hardships over the past 18 months, and we’re now at risk of losing our home. I’m reaching out for your help to keep my family safe and stable.
Over the past year and a half, we’ve been hit with one challenge after another. Both of our paid-off cars broke down, forcing us to buy a cheap clunker for my commute and take on a new car payment for my wife to transport our kids. We entered debt consolidation to manage mounting bills, but the monthly payments, though lower, became overwhelming—especially after a loan company sued us, requiring higher bi-weekly payments to settle.
Then, a faulty toilet seal caused $16,000 in water damage to our home. Insurance covered all but $1,500, which we’re paying off monthly. Our mortgage, already a stretch, increased by $150 per month due to the insurance claim. Recently, another leak from the same bathroom’s shower forced all six of us to share one bathroom until I can afford repairs.
Five days ago, we had to use our mortgage savings to prevent our water and electricity from being disconnected. Now, we’re behind on our mortgage, which our lender won’t accept partial payments for, putting us at risk of foreclosure. We’ve sold everything we can, cut expenses like internet and eating out, and borrowed from family (which we’re still repaying). Despite our efforts, we’re trapped in an overdraft cycle, losing thousands in fees and struggling to keep up.
I’m not asking for a free ride—just a chance to keep my family in our home. My goal is $5,000 to catch up on our mortgage, cover this month’s utilities, and break the overdraft cycle. If 5,000 people donate just $1 and share this campaign, we can stay in our home and keep fighting for stability.
How Your Support Helps:
• $3,000: Catch up on overdue mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure.
• $1,500: Pay current utilities to keep water and electricity on.
• $500: Cover bank overdraft fees to stabilize our finances.
Please donate $1 (or whatever you can) and share this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. If you share with 100 people and they do the same, your support could save our home. Every dollar and share brings us closer to security for my children.
Thank you for your generosity and for giving us a fighting chance.
With gratitude,
Devon Groner
