Help Devin Overcome Medical Crisis

Donation protected
Hi friends, family and those of you who don't know me. My name is Devin. I'm a 33-year-old single dad and have the most precious little girl who is six. We are currently trying to move from Kalamazoo into a place better suited for our needs (lol after we find it) But this past week while I was trying to fix up our old house to sell, I encountered one of the most difficult problems I've had in quite some time. While scraping the front window of our home to repaint an caulk, I got a sliver in the edge of My right ring finger. Normally this wouldn't be a problem and I would just dig it out. But for some reason after I pulled this devil of a sliver out and soaked it. It decided it wasn't done with me lol. The next afternoon when I got out of work I went to urgent care and got put on some antibiotics. Went to sleep. Woke up the next day to it being slightly worse and worked throughout the day, once my shift was over, the swelling was quite significant so I went down to Ascension gorgeous and waited from 5:30 p.m. until about 10:30 p.m. I couldn't wait any longer down there because I have to work at 4:00 a.m. so I decided to go home and that I would go again after I got out of work on Thursday of last week. Still taking the antibiotics and them not really having any effect on the area. I decided after work Thursday to go to the ER in Marshall which is where and when everything just kind of took a turn for the worst. I got into the ER and they told me they wanted to hold me overnight because they were concerned about the infection being in my arterial wall in my ring finger, so the RN on staff that evening called Oaklawn's orthopedic specialist. After that conversation and my first observation overnight he decided to see me Friday morning, to his surprise of how swollen and bad it was, they rushed me into surgery Friday afternoon and put a catheter through my finger to drain out any infection, fillet the side of my finger off and tap into the upper part of The same knuckle to make sure the infection was not in my bone or joint tissue. It is now day number five (Monday) and I still have a couple days to go before the cultures come back with an answer to what antibiotics they will be sending me home with. I work full-time and have missed work this past week as well as racked up a massive medical bill that I cannot afford because I'm still new to the company I work for and don't have insurance. Normally I wouldn't ask for anything. I don't ask for anything. Most of you probably don't even hear from me or forgot who I am and it's probably mutual but with everything I have going on with trying to build a new life with my daughter, this little slip with the sliver its putting me on the verge of loosing everything and could be detrimental to everything that I have going on. I ask please anyone to share this on their pages tho whomever they can and spread their kindness. I'm currently still in the hospital and might get out Thursday they say. I hope and pray this finds the right places it needs to go to help us get back on the right track. I really appreciate the opportunity to do this and am hopeful I am doing this the right way. God bless and have a splinter free summer yall
