Help Devin Heal: Support a gentle Spirit, Wife, & Future Nurse
Our names are Jai and Kirsten, and we are writing this on behalf of one of our dearest friends, Devin , a woman of rare strength, resilience, and heart.
Devin is a newlywed, having just married the love of her life this past April. She’s also a full-time nursing student, pouring herself into a career of caring for others , all while navigating some of the most overwhelming health challenges a person could face.
Recently, Devin was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines, a rare and debilitating neurological condition that mimics strokes and can trigger seizures. In just the past few weeks, she’s experienced extreme symptoms: disorientation, memory lapses, sudden weight loss, loss of mobility, and even fainting spells , all of which have led to ER visits, hospital stays, and mounting medical bills.
If that weren’t enough, she’s also managing:
•Two uterine masses that may require surgery,
•Severe metabolic dysfunction (including low TSH),
•A lesion on her pituitary gland, requiring continued MRIs,
•Increased intracranial pressure with vision loss and radiating skull pain,
•And potentially a genetic cardiac conduction disorder that may necessitate a defibrillator implant.
She’s been unable to work due to her condition and is now facing over $5,000 in ambulance and ER bills, with another $900 MRI charge already piling up , and more tests scheduled. Insurance coverage is uncertain, and the stress of medical debt is only compounding her already fragile health.
Despite all of this, Devin still shows up with love …for her husband, her fur-babies Themba & Tulah, her family, and her friends. She’s humble, loving to everyone, possesses an impeccable work ethic , and would never ask for help lightly. But right now… she needs it.
Here’s how you can support:
Your donation, no matter the size, will directly help Devin:
•Pay down urgent medical bills
•Cover upcoming diagnostic tests and treatment
•Relieve financial pressure so she can focus on healing
•Support her dream of finishing nursing school and returning to her calling of helping others
This isn’t just about recovery , it’s about reclaiming the life she worked so hard to create. One full of purpose, compassion, and service to others.
And if anyone deserves to be surrounded with love and support right now …t’s Devin.
Let’s help ease her load.
With deep gratitude,
Jai & Kirsten
