Hi, my name is Kristi, and I'm fundraising for my adult son, Devin after a tragic motorcycle accident. Devin has had a tough hand in life, spending 10 years in foster care before I adopted him. Now, at 23, he is facing another tragedy. The Atlanta police have informed us he was slowing/stopped due to the heavy rain on the interstate, and then a speeding, reckless driver (and 2 other charges)sedan hit him and ran him over on I-75. He spent Sunday 1-2-22 in surgery all day fighting for his life. He will have more surgeries in the coming days as well. He is now healing from a brain bleed, multiple breaks in his face, two breaks on his spine, a destroyed/removed spleen, lacerated kidneys, multiple blood transfusions, a crushed pelvis, loss of his soleus muscle (the calf), fractured leg, dislocated knee, and may still lose his right leg. Devin was not intoxicated and not at fault. Insurance takes a lot of time, however, and he is going to need help as he will move to my house to recover, requiring accessibility adaptations, time, travel to rehab, etc., and he will have no income for his personal bills.
