Help Devi Learn and Lead at Barnard College

Hi! My name is Devi. Recently, I was accepted to Barnard's pre-college Summer Leadership Program in New York City. Barnard is an undergraduate college program within Columbia University; I was inspired by their prestigious and empowering campus climate. When I first learned about this program and discovered the global humanities track, I laughed out loud because of how perfect it felt. It brings all my passions together into one program at my dream college.

In this program, I will learn about constitutional law through a historical and modern lens. The classes analyze text, read Supreme Court cases, and discuss the different ways the Constitution is interpreted in the judicial system. Outside of my program of study, there are leadership courses that focus on empowering women in leadership roles; all of this with a goal to gain a holistic understanding of the humanities and their impact on our world.

I want to take this opportunity to learn as much as possible about political policy, leadership, and how our government functions. I truly believe I that I can leave a positive impact on this world and improve it for future generations. To those who have already supported me so much in my dreams, I can't thank you enough. When we invest in our passion, we cultivate a future filled with purpose and possibility. So, I want to end by thanking those who will invest in me and every other girl out there who believes she can make a difference.
