My name is Devan Petersen and I am 33 years old. I am at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge here in Alexandria MN. I am asking for help because I am self pay and it costs me $1,192.00 a month out of pocket and this doesn't even include medical cost. I'm struggling to pay the monthly cost to stay here in treatment. I have about 8 months left and by the time I'm done I'm going to be paying near $14,000.00. On top of this I am also trying to save up for living cost once I get out of treatment. I'm going to give you a little bit of my testimony and how I ended up here in Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge.

I had a good up bringing but with my disabilities and the way I thought about everything wasn't good. By the time I was 6 years old I already was on medication and was finding out I have mental health problems and found out I had a learning disability. I have been using drugs since I have been 11 years old. All the years leading up to now I have felt unloved, not enough, and scared of failing. I have been here at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge since Sept. 22nd. Since I've been here I have been Baptized and I have a really good relationship with God. I still have a lot of questions and still don't understand a lot of things that goes with my faith but I know that God has me and he's on my side.

This is just a part of my testimony. If anyone wants to get to know me more or wants to know more before you decide to donate, I'm more than gladly to share.
