Hey Everyone, for anyone who doesn’t know me personally my name is Devin Alejandro-Wilder and I’m a trans, latinx, and deaf/disabled visual artist/filmmaker based in Austin, TX working in experimental media and community archiving.

This is really hard for me to write but last month I inured my shoulder and needed to shift jobs to prioritize my physical health and well-being. Unfortunately, the loss of income during that time, payments for my upcoming documentary course, and accumulated moving fees from September resulted in me receiving a move-out notice last month.

At this time I currently owe about 2000 in back rent and am asking my extended community for help to meet this goal so I can stay housed, keep making course payments, and continue to heal and work through this difficult time.

Without many other options left as I’m about to be served an eviction notice, I’m acting on the advice from dear and trusted friends to ask for help in this way so I can take the necessary steps to stabilize my living situation and walk more confidently into 2026.

I know these times continue to try us all, but truly any amount given would mean the world to me. Words genuinely cannot express how grateful I've been for the support and community that taking classes and learning by documenting local LGBTQIA+ productions about town has brought into my life. Having already participated in several screening opportunities to share and discuss this work publicly, I’ve sincerely been feeling so blessed to have made it this far in my first year navigating this creative transition into filmmaking.
