Help Detroit City FC 2010 Rouge Soccer Team Reach the Cup!

In 2012, Detroit City FC was born. Its club motto, Passion for Our City, Passion for the Game, evokes the three ideas the grassroots organization was built upon: to satisfy the demand for soccer in downtown Detroit, represent the city in a positive light, and build community through “the beautiful game.”

In 2018, Detroit City Youth soccer was founded with the mission of providing high level affordable soccer to Detroit youth. Since that founding year, we have grown from 3 to 31 teams while never turning a player away due to financial concerns. This year, 48% of our club has been awarded scholarships so that they can play their beloved sport.

Today, I am writing to you to talk about one of those teams; the 2010 Rouge team.

The 2010 Rouge Team is nothing short of extraordinary. Comprised of 16 incredibly talented players, this team stands out not only for their exceptional skill on the field but also for their inclusivity and diversity. One of their shining distinctions is proudly boasting a female starter, a testament to their commitment to equality and breaking down barriers in sports.

Their track record speaks volumes about their prowess. With numerous tournament victories under their belt, the team has consistently showcased their dominance and resilience on the field. However, their crowning achievement came last season when they clinched the first-place title in the highly competitive MSPSP Premier 1 league, solidifying their status as one of the top teams in the Midwest region.

On Saturday, June 1st, after making it through 4 rounds of group play, quarterfinal and semifinal matches, the team won the State Cup Championship for the U14 Premier division and have earned an incredible opportunity to participate in the President's Cup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This tournament is not only a chance for our talented young athletes to showcase their skills on a national stage but also a significant milestone in their development as players and individuals.

However, the cost of travel and accommodations presents a significant financial challenge for our team and their families. As a community, we believe in the power of sports to inspire, unite, and empower our youth. By supporting our players on this journey, you're not just helping them chase their dreams on the soccer field; you're investing in their future, nurturing their passion, and fostering a sense of pride in our community.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in helping us reach our goal. Whether it's a donation, sponsorship, or simply spreading the word, your support will have a lasting impact on these young athletes and their pursuit of excellence.

Together, let's rally behind our Detroit City FC 2010 youth team and show them that we believe in their talent, dedication, and potential. Thank you for your generosity and for being a vital part of our community.

Sincerely,
Kelly (2010 Rouge Manager) and the rest of our 2010 Rouge Team and Families
