My name is Kambr, and I manage the equestrian program at Clydesdale Outpost in Whitefish, Montana, where our horses are not just part of what we do… they are family.

Right now, one of our most beloved Clydesdales, Destiny, is fighting through a serious medical situation at Colorado State University’s Veterinary Hospital. She has been there for over five weeks, and we still don’t have a clear timeline for when she’ll be able to come home.

At Clydesdale Outpost, we’ve always believed that if you take on the responsibility of these incredible animals, you show up for them fully. From high-quality feed and supplements to regular dental and chiropractic care, we do everything we can to keep them healthy and thriving. And when something more serious happens, Matt and Ben don’t hesitate to pursue whatever care is needed.

But Destiny’s situation has been different.

What started as a severe sinus infection this winter turned into something much more complicated. After multiple X-rays and consultations with specialists, she was transported to Colorado State University for advanced imaging. A CT scan revealed deeper issues, and she underwent surgery to open and clean out her sinus, removing infected tissue and necrotic bone.

The team at CSU has been incredible, working tirelessly to help her heal!

But during her recovery, Destiny had a setback. One night, she damaged the surgical site and fractured her skull near the original incision. This led to another surgery to remove additional compromised bone.

Since then, she’s undergone a second CT scan and multiple endoscopic procedures. Even now, it’s unclear how much longer she’ll need to stay or whether further procedures, like a tooth extraction, will be necessary once her fractures heal.

Through it all, she continues to fight.

If you’ve ever met Destiny, you understand why this is so hard. She’s the kind of horse that quietly leaves an impression: gentle, patient, and so loving to us humans. She’s carried first-time riders, greeted guests with those soft, kind eyes & blonde hair, and been part of countless moments that people take home with them long after they leave the ranch.

The cost of her care has already exceeded $15,000 and continues to climb, with no clear end in sight.

Matt and Ben would never ask for help lightly. But this has reached a point where support from the community could truly make a difference.
If you feel called to help, your donation will go directly toward Destiny’s care and recovery:
Ongoing diagnostics
Medications and treatments
Specialized veterinary care and recovery
Returning Destiny home

And if giving isn’t possible right now, simply sharing this means more than you know.

Destiny has given so much to our team, our guests, and this community.
Right now, she’s the one who needs us.

Thank you for being part of the Clydesdale Outpost story and Destiny’s story,
Kambr
