Help Destiny Getz Through Aggressive Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hello everybody, my name is Katie Sanner, and I am making this go fund me on behalf of my little sister, Destiny Getz. She is 22 years old, and has been battling cancer for over a year now. She was diagnosed with Stage 3D Nodular Melanoma in March 2024, just two months after giving birth to her first child. She was told straight away that her cancer is extremely aggressive and likely to spread and have multiple reoccurrences over the next 10+ years. She was given reoccurrence rates of 78% over the next 5 years; 68% over the next 10 years. Her specific case has an overall poor prognosis, and is likely to become terminal. Shortly after diagnosis, her cancer continued to spread throughout her lymphatic system and became Stage 4. Treatments so far have been unsuccessful and her cancer has continued to spread rapidly so she is currently set to undergo a very harsh treatment known as TIL Therapy. They will harvest T cells from her tumor in her arm, and multiply them in a lab and then inject them back into her after undergoing a short course of chemotherapy. In order to do this she will have to stay in the hospital (which is 2 hours away from her home) for at least 2 weeks to undergo the treatment. She is set to start this process on April 14th. For months after treatment she will have to make frequent trips to and from her doctor for check ups to insure She will be immunocompromised for a while after receiving this treatment and has been unable to work due to her condition and this treatment will prolong that. She has applied for disability and is currently fighting a denial. Your donations will go towards transportation costs, out of pocket costs associated with medical care (post treatment home care, medications, copays, etc.), and helping pay for basic essentials for her 1 year old child due to financial hardship. We appreciate any help you can give during this horrible time, thank you so very much! The beneficiary on this will be my dad as he is her advanced care directive, in the case that she would get to sick.
