Hi, my name is Destiney Montoya, and asking for help is not something I ever imagined I would have to do. I am still in high school and graduating this year. Over the past few years life has presented me with many challenges that have been overwhelming both emotionally and financially. I lost my mother when I was 7 years old and my father at the age of 14. Since then I have lived with my grandma who does not help me financially with anything and is only giving me a place to sleep until I am 18.

Today while driving from Albuquerque my car started to smoke from the engine and then quickly engulfed into flames, sadly I do not have any money for a new one. This is very devastating as I worked all summer to purchase this car, and was my only source of transportation when I move to Albuquerque for College in the fall. Thank god I am safe and alive.

I have been working since 14 years old to support myself and I have saved a little bit of money but I am not able to save a lot because I have to pay for all my necessities on my own . I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat, but despite my best efforts, I’ve reached a point where I can’t do this alone. This fundraiser is to help me buy a new car and give me the chance to regain stability and move forward with hope.
