Help Desmond Get to Drama School
Greetings!
I am Desmond E. Dennis — a Jamaican content creator and performing artist.
Stemming from a deep-seated desire to discover as many of the sage secrets of the theatre as possible, I applied for Drama school in the United Kingdom in May.
Thankfully, I was offered a place to pursue the MA in Directing programme at the prestigious London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Here's the challenge: I can't afford to cover the costs on my own.
I will need your help in actualising my goals — goals I've been told are much too big and bold for me and, likely, unattainable..." lofty dreams".
The truth is that I don't doubt my capabilities or my potential. I've dedicated the past eight years to learning and honing my skills, and now I have a tremendous opportunity to grow even more.
In the long run, I hope to produce art that moves, transforms, entertains, and heals audiences — powerful work that adds new perspectives to the narratives of my mentors, peers, and people. I wish to honour the legacy of the spaces such as The QUILT and the University of the West Indies Dramatic Arts Society (UDAS) — the spaces on which my theatre foundation rests.
There's not much time as I joined the race very late but, with your help, I have all faith we will make up ground and cross the finish line successfully.
EVERY DONATION COUNTS AND WILL GO A FAR WAY.
Blessings to you. And welcome to this journey...
